Crowns and Bridges

At Natural Smiles Family Dentistry in Lowell, Massachusetts, we are dedicated to providing high-quality, customized dental care that enhances both your oral health and appearance. We offer advanced restorative options, including crowns and bridges, designed to restore your smile's function, beauty, and strength.

Reasons You Might Need a Crown or Bridge

Crowns and bridges are essential to restorative dentistry because they can repair your smile and prolong your oral health.

A Broken Tooth

We often recommend dental crowns if a broken or fractured tooth is too large for bonding.

Replace a Large Filling

If you have large amalgam fillings, they can break down and require a dental crown.

A Missing Tooth

A dental bridge is a good option if you have a missing tooth and want a non-surgical option.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dental crowns are designed to be durable and long-lasting, but their lifespan depends on factors such as your daily oral care habits and how well you maintain regular dental check-ups and cleanings. At Natural Smiles Family Dentistry in Lowell, MA, we use high-quality materials and precise techniques to ensure your crown lasts for many years. With proper care, most of our dental crowns can last at least 10 years or longer.

We use zirconia crowns, which are known for their strength and durability. Zirconia is one of the most robust materials used in modern dentistry, providing long-lasting protection for your tooth while offering a natural-looking appearance. Our crowns are crafted using a precise digital workflow, ensuring a perfect fit and minimizing the need for adjustments. This advanced technology allows us to create crowns that fit seamlessly and comfortably in your mouth so you can speak, eat, and smile with confidence.

We also use the strongest bonding agents available, ensuring your crown stays securely in place for years to come. However, the most common reason crowns fail is not due to the materials themselves but because of new decay forming on the tooth next to the crown or the tooth becoming compromised by gum disease.

At Natural Smiles Family Dentistry, we’re committed to the longevity of your dental crown. During your consultation, Dr. Luz will discuss any personal factors that could affect the lifespan of your crown and how we can address them. Additionally, we offer free repairs for any mechanical issues within the first two years after placement, as we stand by the quality of our work.

How Dental Crowns Work

Crowns are often used to repair teeth that have significant damage or decay beyond what a filling can fix. A crown covers the entire tooth, providing strength, protection, and stability. At our practice, we use zirconia, a high-strength material, for our crowns. Zirconia is known for its durability, natural appearance, and ability to withstand the pressures of chewing, making it an excellent choice for both front and back teeth.

Whether you need a crown for cosmetic or functional reasons, our team ensures that your zirconia crown fits perfectly, looks natural, and enhances the overall aesthetics of your smile. With the help of our digital workflow, we ensure precision in every step of the process, providing you with a crown that blends seamlessly with your existing teeth.

Bridges to Replace Missing Teeth

In addition to crowns, dental bridges are another effective option for replacing missing teeth. A dental bridge consists of a custom-made restoration that fills the gap left by one or more missing teeth. It is supported by crowns placed on the adjacent healthy teeth, with a replacement tooth suspended over the gums to restore both function and appearance. Bridges are ideal for patients who maintain good oral hygiene, prefer to avoid surgery, and want a quick, reliable solution. With our expertise, most patients can have a permanent bridge placed in just two weeks, giving them a beautiful, functional smile in a short amount of time.

Dental Technology Meets Personal Care

At Natural Smiles Family Dentistry, your comfort and well-being are our top priorities. We use advanced digital technology to ensure that every restoration, whether a crown or a bridge, fits comfortably and looks completely natural. Our team takes great care to personalize your treatment to meet your unique needs, and we are here to guide you through every step of the process.
